SUCCESS SUITS YOU!

So how do you like working from home? The days are shorter and you can definitely feel that winter is on its way. Dressing for the work place has really changed during this pandemic and it may be something that sticks with us as we head into 2021.

As many of us have said goodbye to our daily commutes and business travel, or have turned our kitchens and playrooms into work studios, the way we have styled out our jobs has also changed and I am sure its now become more relaxed. We are no longer spending a great deal of time rushing from meeting to meeting. So what does power dressing look like now?

My day job is an Art curator for Flat Space Art an art gallery based in Notting Hill, London. It’s true to say that life mirrors art. Fashion is a HUGE part of my life, a definite passion and like art I have been collecting both fashion pieces and Hermes Birkin bags since my twenties. The apple does not fall far from the tree, my mother and my Omi were both glamorous dressers and art lovers. I can still remember my Omi in her nineties looking absolutely beautiful.

Working from home certainly has its perks - more versatile options, however I have actually quickly started to miss the need to dress smartly from head to toe for meetings - as it’s only the top half most people can see on my Zoom meetings.

As a result I have been living in mainly knit dresses since the start of Autumn. Teaming them with a pair of boots for an easy pulled together look. I LOVE the Isabel Marant ones – they are so timeless and easy to style with other pieces.

For knit jumpers I love the Latini knit Luxurious Alpaca & Merino Wool Sweater. They are super cosy with an oversized turtleneck and wide sleeves which still fit perfectly under a coat. I have also invested in my first Blaze Milano blazer . They are expensive but trust me they are worth it. The quality is outstanding and the fabrics are beautiful. I do notice that my own process of getting dressed has altered somewhat. I often choose a different piece of jewellery such as some of the fun pieces from the Lily Baker Jewels collection, the colour of a lipstick or a hairstyle as the starting point. Has this changed for you too?

On days where I don’t have Zoom calls I still like to get dressed up, but just in my loungewear. I never thought I would say this but I am obsessed with chunky boots. I have found myself buying several pairs of them and if I am popping to the shops, out walking Titus (my miniature sausage dog) or simply doing the school run they are just more convenient and give you some extra height! There is something so insanely lovely about finishing work albeit from home ….school run….your day and getting into your cosy clothes in the early evening. I love mixing loungewear pieces with chunky boots and blazers – depending on what I have going on in the day. Its a mix of effortless but instantly elevates your look.

So here you are … I have listed below some of my favourite “go to” autumnal pieces. I hope you find them helpful and feel free to share for others to enjoy too!

Jewellery- I had to dedicate an entire section to this as I have just fallen in love with their playful, chic jewellery in 14/18K gold and it’s so reasonably priced. Currently I am obsessed with their panther range, lips necklace and LOVE collection, after all we could all do with a bit of love in the world! Very kindly my friends there have given us a 10 percent off discount code for you to use. Simply use LuLoves at checkout.

Red High Heels - And for sure when in need ,I pop on a pair of my favourite heels and it just instinctively lifts my mood.

Knit Dresses – I have been living in knit dresses since the start of Autumn. They are the easiest choice when pregnant – team them with a belt and boots for an easy pulled together look. Love the Isabel Marant ones – they are so timeless.

Knit jumpers - The Latini Luxurious Alpaca & Merino Wool Sweaters are super cosy oversized huge turtleneck and wide sleeves but fit perfectly under a coat. Very kindly my friends there have given is a 20% off discount including free shipping. Simply use LuLoves at checkout.

Blazers – I invested in my second Blaze Milano blazer recently. They are expensive but they are such amazing quality and the fabrics are just beautiful. My first one is plain navy so I wanted to go for the bold houndstooth this time and love teaming it with chunky boots.

Winter Velvet Berry Trouser suits – I know I go on and on about my Velvet suits, but to me every winter wardrobe is made up of Winter berry reds and velvets.
